A Movement, Theatre and Puppetry Show
Date: 20th June, 2026
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: W.I.P Adda
The Doorway is a story about family, the sense of belonging and transition, which the performer explores through a physical and emotional navigation of space. Yash (the performer and director) has drawn stories from his own life experiences.
It's a world where objects come to life - they walk, talk, express and emote as we do.
The show alternates between old photographs, narration, puppetry, theatrics and performance. Through these elements, the audience pieces together the dynamics within the family. It explores themes of communication, loss, conversations, and differences. How these moments arise, and we work around them constantly. How our lives are an amalgamation of our stories, our relationships, our routines and our hardships.
One body brings to life 4 other characters as we traverse with him around matters of the heart, childishness, seeking independence and breaking free from control. Divided into 3 chapters representing 3 rooms, each belonging to a different family member, it is a comical take on anthropomorphism.
