Music Improvisation - Norwegian Folk and Indian Ragas | 1st Nov

Guro Kverndokk & Hanna Kallestad

Voice, Violin, Hardanger Fiddle & Live Effects

Date: Sunday, 1 November

Time: 7:30 PM

Duration: 90 mins

Location: W.I.P Adda

An intimate music set by Norwegian artists Guro Kverndokk (vocals, live effects) and Hanna Kallestad (violin, Hardanger fiddle) blends free improvisation with deep sonic exploration. The duo plays within the trenches of tenderness, tension, and release; focusing on the texture and extended techniques of both the instruments and vocals.

Drawing inspiration from the overtone structures and microtonality of Norwegian traditional folk music and the modal richness of Indian classical raga, Kverndokk and Kallestad expand the expressive possibilities of voice and strings through subtle electronic processing and spontaneous dialogue.
